Gardens and drives in Stevenage
Front gardens seen on every arrival. Mrs Marshall’s is the published one.
A Stevenage front garden is what you see on the way to the door, and it is often left until the back is done. Mrs Marshall’s was remade with slab paths, brick edging, a pebble border, a new step, a circular stone feature in the lawn, new turf and pots.
Estate back gardens suit one sitting area, grass that mows quickly, and planting that is tough. Land around flats is more often a grounds round — grass, hedges, litter, leaves — than a redesign.
Stevenage Borough Council handles protected trees inside the borough. Builds and later visits both come up from Hertford.
