Hard landscaping
Hard landscaping
The surfaces, walls and edges: drives, patios, fences, decks and ponds.

Hard landscaping is the structure that is still there in January. It is the drive you park on, the patio you sit on, the fence that holds the boundary, and the pond that was dug rather than planted.
Published jobs run from a short alley in block and slab, through sandstone in Borehamwood and a renewed Hemel Hempstead drive, to a steep Radlett entrance rebuilt in blocks with stone and timber holding the bank.
Excavation, base, edge, surface and pointing are one sequence. Where the spoil is too much for a barrow, a mini digger and dumper can be on the job with a driver.
